Since gathering info from other members over the last few months and getting parts, thought I'd post my progress so far.

John from Big M Auto posted about this car back around New Years and I had to have it, been searching for a 1960 Desoto coupe on and off for the better part of 10 years, finally had the ability to pick one up somewhat close.
Went to check it out in person in Febuary and had a friend pick it up at the end of the month, been slow progress but she runs and drives, just need to do some brake work and get the gauges working, as well as finish glass replacement.

1960 Desoto Fireflight coupe, built on March 1st, 1960 and delivered to Lloyd McKee Motors in Albuquerque, New Mexico where it stayed for all of its life I assume.

The decode of the built sheet requested by chrysler historical
.
G4 = order code 304 = Power Group No. 2

Power Steering
Power Brakes
Electric Clock
Front and Rear Bumper Guards
Left Outside Rear View Mirror with Remote Control

V1 = order code 441 = Solex Tinted Glass
Y8 = order code 588 = Undercoating and Underhood Insulating Pad

SO 0301 = Scheduled on March 1, 1960
NUMBER 3024 = 24th Car Built That Day; each production day started at 3001 and up
BDY 712 = DeSoto (7) Fireflite Series (1) Two Door Hardtop (2)
TRIM 814 = Gray Vinyl and Gray Nylon Thread Fabric
PNT YY1 = Adobe Rust Color – Upper and Lower (WW), Single Tone Paint Scheme (1)

The car is also optioned with the day/night mirror, but has the base 361 V8, though someone swapped a 4bbl carb onto it at some point. Single exhaust, and quite quiet. I picked up a set of 1960 Plymouth swivel seats for the car when visiting a few weeks back and also got a set of desoto dog dish hubcaps. I may go the route of making a similar setup of Doc Desoto's old fireflite coupe one day with a crossram setup with a 3 speed setup on the floor if I can find all the parts, as this car is rather un-unique in its options, neither a stripper model, nor loaded.

While visiting the Spring Fling at Woodley Park, saw a almost identical twin (minus some extra trim and two tone roof) Adobe Rust Fireflite coupe

Looks like a really good project, not a mountain of rust repair like most. did the swivel seat come in it originally or was it added? What's the ultimate goal for the car?

John had a single parts car in his yard with swivel seats. After having the same type of seats originally in my 1960 Chrysler 2 years ago, I liked them so much that if I got another FL car, I'd want to throw a set in. Ultimate goal is to possibly gather enough parts to mirror the Desoto Doc had 40 years ago, a crossram 3 speed on the floor car, maybe with dog dishes, but beyond that I'd mirror the original looks the best I can color wise and interior wise. Until I can gather all the unique unicorn parts I'll be content driving it as a somewhat average 361 v8 3 speed auto car.
