Expert 5K+ Posts: 7450 Location: northern germany | That looks mighty purdy! Very little glitter, not like OE, but very nice anyway. Not mine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/176168541928?itmmeta=01HPG82JXPDZ099F528Y7H...

I prefer my redone wheels with the new clear. (redwheel.jpg) Attachments ---------------- redwheel.jpg (247KB - 38 downloads)

Elite Veteran Posts: 873 Location: ALABAMA, HEART OF DIXIE | The problem with a NOS aero wheel is that they are 60 + years old and old plastic technolegy. Once put in service they have a limited life span. one good pull on it and they crack. Better off with a qualith recast wheel such as D&D in North Carolina offers.

Elite Veteran Posts: 669 Location: Finland | The yellowing of all clear casting materials is not easy to get around.. They crack the first time you have to remove the steering wheel if they haven`t already done it.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7450 Location: northern germany | If you remove the steering wheel the correct way, there is absolutely no stress for the clear section, or the whole steering wheel.

Elite Veteran Posts: 633 Location: Lubbock, TX | I'm having Steering Wheel Kris do a 1960 300F wheel for me, he's a little more affordable and faster than Quality Restorations, but they also have always done great work in the past. I've seen NOS wheels yellow in a matter of months of installing on a car and exposing to the sun. It's a combination of age/decay on the plastics and then the added heat and UV rays when being driven or parked. ~Peter
