Location: North Australia | Nice looking car. Would this have been made with a 392? Steve.

Location: Alaska | Since this car has left hand drive we can assume it was built to U.S. specs and later imported to Aus. It was most likely built with the 354 poly 4 bbl. engine I believe rated at 310 HP. Not sure you could get the 392 as a special order as it was supposed to be used only in New Yorker, 300D, and Imperial in 58. |

Location: So. Cal | Correct, just the 354 poly motor originally. Personally, I don't care for the 440 motor in there. Wrong period, and unnecessarily big. But despite the fact that this car is covered in red, that's one great looking car. |

Location: North Australia | Nathan, "Just the 354 Poly", are they good engines or not good? I read that they are OK. Be a nice car with a period correct engine 392, 354 P or H. Actually other than the missing gear selector (and the floor shift) its OK with the 440 too, at least it is Chryco. Steve.

Location: So. Cal | The 354 poly is a great engine. I have one in my '57 Windsor and love it. Increase the compression in '58 and it's even better. |

Location: Alaska | If you want to change the car back to a more original engine, you will also need the correct transmission and probably also a driveshaft. It clearly has a newer 727 trans. which won't fit the older engines without an adapter. These parts may be very hard to find where you live. |
