[Chrysler300] A good 300 story

You never know where / when you will hear a good 300 story.  I was in line
for pot luck lunch at our church today when a friend (Phil Jensen) asked if
we had been traveling; we said no but that in a few weeks we going to TN for
a Chrysler 300 meet.  Our friend then said that in 1961 he had just gotten
out of school and was working for M. G. Gullixson who was the owner /
publisher / editor of the Minnetonka Herald in Wayzata, MN.  Mr. Gullixson
was a bachelor and had no car but decided he wanted to visit relatives in
CA.    He asked Phil to drive him there.  Phil then asked what will we drive
there?  Mr. Gullixson then asked Phil to go buy a car.  Phil knew a bit
about the 300's so he bought a 1961 300G and that is what he and Mr.
Gullixson drove to and back from CA.  Phil moved on from the newspaper so
that was the end of his connection with the G, but if anyone has a G that
originated in Minnetonka, Phil could at least tell you about a cross country
trip that it made.
