On my much-referenced and laminated 1964 wiring diagram, it clearly shows wire X-2A as a 14-gauge lead to "Rear Cigar Lighter Wiring"  It includes a 10 Amp inline fuse as it is otherwise unprotected.  It is connected to the ALT side of the ammeter See:  http://www.jholst.net/wiring/wiring.pdf

Hello All,

I see a green wire connected to the black wire terminal on the ammeter, but this doesn’t seem to be in the wiring diagram. I see a grey wire that is supposed to connect from the red ammeter terminal to the clock. 

If this is true, what is this green wire for?  I think I connected it in the past, but I am not sure if it is correct. Thank you!

PS-Green wire has a rectangular black molded piece neat the terminal.
