{Chrysler 300} 1962 Dash Pad

I am into swapping out the Dash Pad….as I just received a beautiful one from RD Autoline.
When I do this for my H - I will assemble the entire dash, with pad, on a bench….
As doing this job IN car is a nightmare.

Anyway….
From the factory - Were the Dash Pads applied with adhesive?

I understand the Dash Pads are kept in place & in shape via the:
  • Arrow Tabs
  • Threaded Studs
  • Astrodome Upper Shell

I understand that once I AM able to get the old pad off, I will need to somehow:
  • Remove all of the old foam material stuck to the top of the metal dash
  • Make it all as smooth as possible in preparation of the new pad

When I go to install the new pad:
  • Do I need to use some sort of adhesive to help glue it down to the top of the metal dash?
  • Or nay?

Hating my choice to swap the pad… 😳
