Re: {Chrysler 300} Fw: AACA Original Class Judging Plus 300H Trunk Mat Question

I take care of my great uncles 62 Sport and it is completely original, and in pretty nice shape. Unfortunately the trunk mat was gone in it so I got a pre cut carpet from I believe quirey designs that took over for Gary Goers. Their link is below. If you have trouble finding it when I get home next week I can go through my folder for the car and find the receipt. Anyway, I did this because I too took it to ACCA, at Hershey, but I entered it in a judging class not HPOF. I have been going there trying to compete with mostly or completely original cars for a while now. I have found the judges rarely pick up on these minor things unless you happen to get a Judge who really knows your model well. I feel the carpet looks better than any rubber mat option I could find. My goal was to look as original, or at least relatively believable to been original as possible. If you find a good source for a rubber mat that looks good I would love to get a hold of one but I could not. I have had my frustrations with the AACA judging, but eventually I realized I wouldn't trade the car I came in for any car on the field so it really doesn't matter.

Subject: AACA Original Class Judging Plus 300H Trunk Mat Question

This past weekend the AACA held its Western National Meet in Tucson so I entered our unrestored 300H coupe for evaluation in the Original Class. It did well, earning an Original badge. It lost a few points for my switch to radial tires as I drive it regularly, plus the addition of an electric auxiliary fuel pump for priming purposes. I also learned the current fabric trunk mat had replaced the original rubber mat at some point. Does anyone have an original mat they could snap a photo of so I could see what sort of pattern it had?
Thanks for any help or advice.
