Identify your Pertronix module and look for its installation instructions on line which should be easy to do. Discussions about the travails of Pertronix use are prevalent on a Corvette forum I frequent. Many run into trouble with the ballast in the circuit feeding the gadget. You must follow their wiring instructions.
Even then I would keep a spare gizmo or a set of points, condenser and mounting screws in the glove box.
