{Chrysler 300} pin in top water channels

I received this from club member Jan Thoren in Sweden.

I don't know the answer. Do you?

Bob

Hello. I have opened my engine. Runs fine but only 2 cylinders have comp about 10, all other about 5. Piston rings stuck. Easy to fix.. Found one thing I never seen before.. Pins in top water channels ? Both heads have pins on top and bottom. I guess it is some kind of anodes? They are magnetic and soft.  Please explain if you know. Best / Jan T.
