[Chrysler300] A/C question

HI,

I'm trying to put my K's engine compartment together enough to get it
running. The plan was to leave off the a/c system for the time being, with just the
compressor in place so that the alternator belts will fit. I wasn't worried
about the compressor not having any oil in it, because the clutch will prevent
the compressor from turning. Then the thought occured to me that maybe the
clutch itself might need the oil. Is that true? Do I need to put the whole
system on the car and seal it up, just to run the car?

Thanks,

George Clineman
