RE: [Chrysler300] Tow Vehicles

The fact that you had the fishtail thing going on is a pretty big
indication on an unsafe situation with an inadequate tow vehicle. A
Dakota should not be used to haul a car trailer especially with a large
Chrysler on it ever. Under no circumstances would it be a wise idea.
Ever.
Lee in san diego-still alive and kicking because I tow anything I want
to very safely at any speed with my one ton Cummins dually.(never
fishtails-Ever)

Bob,
Am a little sorry that you've given up the idea of the Dakota. It might
not
be an ideal tow vehicle for the weight of a trailer and 300, but it
definitely will do it as we towed our in-restoration 300C from San
Antonio
to upper Minnesota last year with our 2001 quadcab Dakota with 4.7
engine,
equalizer hitch and tow pacikage. It had no power troubles at all but
we
did have to limit it to 60 mph most of the time because it tended to
fishtail a little as it eased up to 65. Think it would and will do fine
if
we use both an equalizer hitch and hook up the brakes.
As for non-towing, it's a great vehicle to drive.
