Re: [Chrysler300] power steering, lack thereof

Larry and all

I just rebuilt a 57 PS pump that also the power steering quit for no
obvious reason. And it had been recently rebuilt.
As I suspected the by pass spool stuck open. The steering box had not been
rebuilt and the pump picked up debris from box. Pump has a very precision
spool bore and the slightest debris will lodge between the spool and bore.
I would recommend anyone w/ a PS system that has been in operation for
years should be flushed. A good winter project.
