Ed,
I have here a copy of a page, out of a book I guess...don't know the name of the book, the only thing to ID the page is some small printing in the lower left corner which reads...     "A 16-Styling and Models-October, 1958-(P)."

This page is titled "Exterior Colors". The top 1/5th of the page is titled "Solid Colors",                                        under which are two columns...  "Color" and "Shade".
Included in that list is Bittersweet *. Looking at the bottom of the page, I find written, " * These single colors or two-tone combinations are not available for Sport Fury models."

That should answer your question.
(This paper was sent to me by Ken Josephson of Las Vegas years ago. When I asked him about it years later, he couldn't recall where he had found the information.)

Hello Group

John Z started my album of 59 information years ago.  It has now grown to 3 folders packed with info that I have recently put in some kind of order. It was in 'random-sort' order. I dont even own a 59 YET,,but I have tons of info that I cherish.

One piece was a mystery to me.  Can the group help out?
Here is the question................................................
WAS THERE SUCH A THING AS A SPORT FURY IN BITTERSWEET COLOR EVER IN 1959 FROM ANY OF THE ASSEMBLY PLANTS?
------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 'PLYMOUTH DOCUMENT' dated october 1958  (early on) that covers the interior and exterior 1959 PLYMOUTH trims and exterior colors.
It states under the heading of 'EXTERIOR COLORS'
* BITTERSWEET------These colors or two tone combinations are NOT available on SPORT FURY models

it also states......
+  BRONZE-----------These colors or two tone combinations are ONLY available on SPORT FURY models.

Sure was a surprise to me!!!
Maybe later in the build cycle they opened up the color choices??

please put in your comments
