Fuel Question

Does anyone out there have any definitive information on potential problems 
caused by the methanol / ethanol "enhanced" fuels that are so common today? 
A technical note in a recent issue of Road & Track seemed to indicate that 
some of the rubber parts on older cars might be negatively affected.
