Hi all:

Comparing the 440 Mag. cam with the ram cams, here are the cam specs for the
long and short rams according to the booklet that came with my F. It does
not show the intake and exhaust closing degrees. Perhaps someone else can
fill in the blanks.

I filled in the blanks by calculating the missing points from the duration and the given points. It certainly looks like the Mag cam is a viable replacement for the long ram cam and may even work respectably with short rams. The Mag cam beats them both on lift. Dan, do your timing figures include the 4 degree retard provided by the timing gears? The timing figures for the Long ram cam look like they are 4 degrees retarded as shown. Figures for a 4 degree advance are shown in parantheses. I've added the dashes (-) the keep the columns aligned during transmission.

BTW, I misquoted the horsepower and torque figures for the 375 horse 440 (some are mixed up with 6-Pack numbers). They are:
375HP @ 4600RPM and 480lb-ft@3200RPM.

Now, where can I get a Short ram cam for my 440 Mag????
