Re: [Chrysler300] A/C Question

Just left the local Murrays auto parts store. 134 was selling for $16 a can.

Before A/C 'season' hit this year we became aware that R134A would skyrocket in price and that availability would fail. There are many reasons why this has happened. Most importantly, alot of cars built and distributed overseas right now do not use R134A. US recently lost some production capacity which will not be replaced as R134A will soon become obsolete in US also. Caused a lot of scrambling in the industry for awhile for those without heads up BTW. Price is still up but right now availability seems OK. A lot on the net as to what is happening.

High demand for a necessary cheap product and then low supply with high prices sounds like gas thing in '70's to me, but I could be wrong.
