RE: [Chrysler300] Chasing Our Tailfins

Didn't I read a story about a 55 C300 station wagon?

I know I have expressed my interest in a Hurst convertible in the past, I just don't have the time to build one right now.

Maybe it would be even better to build a 1970 Imperial convertible with Fiberglass hood and deck lid and a gold and white paint scheme?

Then, to top it off, a nice new Hemi Dodge Ram pickup with a bed from a 1959 Sweptside! For proportion, it should probably be a Dakota with a 413 with crossrams.

Just think of the possibilities!

Hello 300'ly to all!
Might we be just chasing our tailfins on this thread regarding certifying VINs for letter cars? We have an excellent archiving and validation operation under the auspices of Gloria & Allan Moon along with Gil Cunningham.
If they validate a letter car it is undisputable. The fact that a letter car is included in the 300 Club International registry should be all that is required to prove authenticity. This is included in our $20 registration fee. There is always a prompt response from Gloria, et al, regarding a VIN when a letter car is for sale on e-bay, etc. or if a club member finds one in the boonies. The body by ???? situation is interesting to me. Wayne Graefen in his C Restoration Manual has an interesting article comparing the Duesenberg to the C. Gil Cunningham is mentioned as drawing the parallel of the the C as being equivalent to a post-war Duesenberg. So to have fun, why not have a C chassis and engine with a body by ????. Duesenberg did and is truly recognized as such. Just having a mental exercise here. Also isn't there a B convertible being built on the west coast by two of our club members? This I understand is not a B with the top chopped, but another '56 Chrysler converti
ble with a B front end clip and hopefully the 354 hemi, etc. What will this be registered as, and how will it be received by the club and titled? ROB KERN
