Hi Mike.
Door lock not operating properly is one of 3 things... from my experience.

1-you have the wrong key( I'm not trying to be funny here but I did buy a K
project and it came with a couple of door locks and the ignition key
furnished with the car didn't work with any of them...)
2-your lock is stuck from not operating for too long, rust, etc... in that
case your key will go in the lock but you can't turn it either side to lock
or unlock the door. If this is the case, you will have to attempt to clean
the locks. Take them off the door and soak them in oily substance(WD40?) for
a while until lock operates freely or buy new locks.
3-the linkage inside the door that goes from the lock to the door latch is
missing or not hooked up properly: in that case you can turn your key in the
lock but it will not lock the door. You will have to take off the door panel
and take a peek inside the door to see if  said linkage is there and hooked
up correctly.
1964 mopar door locks are up for sale on ebay sometimes and from various NOS
parts sellers but seems scarce and are priced higher than locks from some
other years. I doubt a dealer would have any...
