Re: [Chrysler300] Front disc brake conversion....red loctite?

I have the AAJ kits on both our '62 300 Sport & '62 NY'er wagon. You will never go back to drums! Weld the adapter on!

Really any type of sleeve locking compound will be fine. I'm not sure I used anything on my spindles when sliding that sleeve on.

Once the bearings are on and adjusted right, there's nowhere for that sleeve to go.

Hi everyone,

I have a front disc brake conversion kit here from AAJ Brakes, everything
looks really nice. The only questionable thing, to me, is using RED LOCTITE
in between the adapter and spindle. As far as I know, once this adapter has
red loctite on it, it will become a permanent part of the spindle. So if you
were to go back to drums or whatever (probably not likely but it's nice to
have that option) your spindles are affectively useless...unless you use
heat to remove which is not recommended on steering components. There isn't
a lot of spare spindles..down here anyway. Would it be better to use a
sleeve locking compound or similar which could be removed, with difficulty,
if needed. Rather than using the permanent red thread loctite?

Anyone been through this?

Thanks
