RE: [Chrysler300] Trans fluids

My fuzzy mem'ry recalls my being told that the "A" in Type "A" stood for
"Armour", as in the meat processor--and that the fluid was derived from
animal matter. I'm not sure Armour dealt in sperm oil, but coulda'
happened.

'Course, I have had a lot of smoke blown at me over the years.

Local farm tractor shops don't seem to be able to find Type A, suffix A
ATF--and I had heard that it was not being produced any more. Perhaps Type
A stock viewed by others is really old stuff.

I hope our field judges don't start pulling samples of oil, antifreeze, ATF,
brake fluid & etc. to determine purity.

Hello All,

It is all fuzzy in my mind, but I vaguely recall that all Chrysler gear
train lubricants contained sperm oil [ from whales that is ] and I don't
think that additive is available anymore. Am I way off base? Thanks for
all the comments and good input on the subject of trans fluids.
