RE: [Chrysler300] More Items found in 300 G Glovebox

Hi Lauren,

You own 300G# 147847, correct? All that paperwork is from another car -
8113 denotes a Newport, I believe

John Hertog

Hi 300 list.

You guys are GREAT!!!!!

Throw out some insignificant glove box item for the group to ponder and they
come back with all the facts and history!!!!

I will send a note to Ray Doern about his business card.

More things found in the glove box!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Authorized Dealer's

Chrysler

delivery

Service Acknowlegement" ( yes, that's the way they spelled it )

Car was sold to:

Herman Anderson
5701 N Mobile
Chicago, Illinois

Selling Dealer:

David Motors inc, (code Number 61600)
Chicago, Illinois

Serial Number 8113-181051
Delivery Date 11-18-61

Is this a "very late production" 300 G HT????

The delivery date would be after the
Introduction date of the 1962 models.
I understand that the letter Cars went
into production later in the model year, so the 300H would have started
production later in the model run.

In June of 1977 the car was owned by.
Dr. Robert Wooten of Winston-Salem, NC.
Mileage listed on some "Midas Paper work"
was 16,386.

In 1982 and 1985 (Registration certificates in glove box )
car was owned by
Amedee J Ogorman of Watertown, WI.
(Also a warning ticket from WI Highway Patrol for no Registration
Certificate )

In the middle 1990's it was owned by
Bob Nitz from the Milwaukee, WI suburbs.

I bought the 300G from Bob Nitz in May of 1998.
Drove the car back to northern Minnesota, Probably drove it 1000 miles or
so, started taking it apart in Oct. 1998.

The mileage on the odometer is 29,414.
Brake pedal and gas pedal show no to slight wear.
Interior wasn't very worn ( dry leather ) The aluminum insert on the
drivers door shows no wear.
I "think" the car had some severe use in it's life. (!!!!!!!) The engine had
been rebuilt at some time.
Cam had been replaced with a wild aftermarket Cam. (300*) A lot of slop in
the timing Chain.
3 of the pistons had broken skirts, One piston broken rings.
A home made fuel block and flex lines to the carbs.

Transmission was from a big block Dodge Truck from 1961.
John Characky and Mike Meyers Checked out the numbers of the trans.
John Characky of Hibbing, MN ( 3 "F's" ), rebuilt the trans and brought it
up to the 300 specs.

We are really lucky to that two MOPAR mavens like John and Mike living in
Northern MN. ( John Characky's 300F (red) is the one
shown on the poster of all the letter Cars. His son in CA did a
complete restoration of that F and finished it last May. I saw
the restored car just after John had driven it out of the trailer.
What an unbelievable car. Kathy and I did two photo shoots of the car.)

The body and trim were in good shape and straight for a 61 car.

Here's the question:................

Is this a 29,XXX mile car, or a 129,xxx mile car, or a 229,xxx mile car,
etc.

That's is for today.
Thank you for your attention.
Tomorrow I may discuss the build sheet that I found under the seat.

Lauren R Lampi
Grand Rapids, Minnesota ( Rain and temp in the 30's, low 40's. No garage
today )
300 G Under construction
