[Chrysler300] Master Cylinder, Phase II

Terry McTaggart here. Thanks for all the advice; I have fixed the problem.
I pulled the rod, along with the piston, out of the master cylinder thru the
passenger compartment. With a LOT more force than I thought necessary, I
was able to separate the rod and the piston. As the wizard, Mr Riehl said,
the rod did have an O-ring on it, keeping the rod in the piston. The act of
pulling the rod and piston apart did not do wonderful things to the O-ring,
which now has seen much better days. The 300F now as both brakes and brake
lights. By the way, the top inside nut on the master cylinder is a bitch to put
back on, due to the rams. Happy Spring!
