RE: [Chrysler300] Gimmick in a can

I missed any original post, also, but would repeat excellent results with
using Kroil, available from the mfr.

http://www.kanolabs.com/

to help disassemble rusted fasteners and seized shafts on my 1955 Chrysler
C-300.

Deep Creep also works, but not as well.

Warren,

What did I miss? I haven't seen posts recently about seized fasteners. Was
this on another list maybe?

Re: recent posts concerning seized fasteners.

Just found a can of CRC 'Freeze-Off' out in the shop. New to me. Just
finished with a 'rust bucket'. Randy says it does help but in some cases he
would expect that quite a bit of one can might be needed to effectively
freeze and crack the rust.

The heat technique works to release rusted together screwed fasteners just
fine but damage to surrounding things might be a serious consideration.
Products like PB Blaster and Liquid Wrench sometimes work but after a long
soak of everything liquid I could find and my 3/4" impact rated at 1000
ft-lbs., I took heat to 5 Budd nuts on a dump truck and they then let go and
backed off. Didn't know about the Freeze-Off to try it yesterday. Other guys
used Freeze-Off on exhaust fasteners and some other small stuff on a rusty
pickup and it did work.
