Re: [Chrysler300] Convertible Tops

Hey group!! Back in 2000 when I started to redo my 61 G ( the one that rolled off the back of the truck at Lake Tahoe), I sat down and ordered all the things I thought I needed to do "Ol Gertty" and get her looking all nice and new , From Gary Goers. He carried them at that time. By the time I got to installing the top, in 2002, the guy who installed it was not happy with at all. He said if I were to replace this some time, to let him order the kit. I don't know if the material shrank or it was cut short, but he had a horrible time getting it to fit right. As he did not furnish the kit and material he did not feel that he was responsible as he did the best he could with what he had. It has always leaked around the header and around the back window. There is no zipper down the sides . therefore noway to seal the sides I don't know if that is factory spec and Gary said that it is. Maybe that is why he no longer carries top kits. Let your top guy order what he thinks is correct. then he will be the guy to make it fit for you. Gary Holm in top down So. Oregon

  Group,

I have ordered and installed convertible tops and rear windows obtained from
Convertible Top Specialists in Florida. These are all original style tops
made by Electron in Rego Park, Queens; one cannot buy from Electron direct.
Electron has been making convertible tops for decades. I have no complaints
about their products, or the fit and finish. These are cheap vinyl tops
just as the originals. No, Pete, there is no glass rear window available.
As to the look of the finished product, a lot of it has to do with the
  skills of the installer.

Question to the group: does anyone know where to obtain correct looking and
fitting rear cables (between body and top frame)?
