Well, I might as well get into this fray....

I checked my "F" filters last night. The are close to the size Dave gives. These are 8-1/8" ID,  9-3/4" OD, and 2-3/16 tall. They were in stock at the village auto parts store, and I saved the product number but not the brand. Can't remember the brand for the life of me. Will check at the auto parts next time there. The number was "BA45." We found these by going through stock comparing them to the ones that came on the car when I bought it until we found a close match.

There is a raised ridge, near the outside of the bottom half of the metal filter part, in about 1/2" or so from the outer edge. I believe this is to help insure a tight fit between the metal and the air filter itself. This size filter is perfect for seating on that ridge.
