RE: [Chrysler300] 62 300 convert speedo cable

Yes, Dave Schwandt is correct, if it is covered in vinyl it is the shift
cable. That is a common problem for the shift cables. I need to buy one
for my '62 Sport Ragtop as well. My garage looks like a big red 4 wheeled
oil tanker has gone aground in there since it has been sitting for a couple
of years, leaking its poor heart out.

Imperial Services sells repros but they are NOT CHEAP. See:

http://www.imperialservices.net/Imperial%20Services%20-%20C-Body%20Parts.htm

I suppose it is probably the way to go rather than trying to put a band aid
on the old one.

I see that Matt Allyn has just replied that J C Auto can help. That is new
info for me. He does great work. When I get around to getting one for
myself, I would be interested in a price comparison.

Good Luck,

Big John Mc Adams

(In SoCal)

Are you sure you don't mean the shift cable? (goes into the left front ot
the trans)

Speedo cable goes in the tailshaft.
