  A generic 'make fit' solenoid might work BUT. The coil may be internally grounded or externally grounded through a forth terminal. AND, some relays are internally grounded (through the case/mounting bracket BTW) and have four terminals one of which is an ignition resistor bypass. Best to have an application correct part.

  Also, the ground path for the internally grounded solenoid is very important. Check and repair. Inner fender panels can be a poor electrical ground. Dedicated ground wires need to be checked also. A ground wire can be stealth added and can fix a lot of no start/intermittent no start/starter run on problems.
