OK, very neat feature indeed but tell me what would have happened if one  
actually opened the door before releasing the seatbelt? Ouch !

Swivel seats that opened when the front doors were opened were available in 
 1960. Several accidents occurred and people were thrown from the vehicles. 
 Chrysler recalled the feature and disconnected the cables during the model 
 year. My reference was John Hertog.
