Re: [Chrysler300] G vibration/grinding noise in rear

Brandt,
My guess is that your exhaust pipe is too close to something else underneath the car. Check you clearance between the pipes and tranny, crossmembers, driveshaft, shocks, gas tank, etc. My rule-of-thumb is if I can put a finger between the pipes and other surfaces, it's good to go. If not, when you "get on it" the flex of the driveline could close a gap and cause a vibration or rattle.

Subject: [Chrysler300] G vibration/grinding noise in rear

Hello to all in 300sville!

ell, I finish brakes (doing them myself...successfully), then get the posi in
ear (thanks Jeff, successful) except one wheel drags a little on full
cceleration when first taking off, going around a corner. Is that normal!?
. And now folks, the latest problem! Melissa is vibrating intermittenly (ugh),
hen in both (D) drive and (N) nuetral and it sounds like it is coming from the
ear. However, I'll bet my trans and/or engine mounts are gone and the engine
unning is vibrating metal to metal and 'shooting the sound back to the rear'! I
ad her make the noise again this time in nuetral so I set the parking brake,
ent down along ground and listened, crawled along rear right around corner to
assenger side where the rattling, clanking seemed more apparent in noise around
he tranny/engine area. Is my theory perhaps correct here? Suggestions? Thanks
ons in advane!!

incerely & 300ly, Brandt H J w/ a G.
