Hi Don, Carl, Gil & All,
Carl Bilter has provided us with some pertinent diagrams from the article
referenced by Don.
³The excellent article about exhaust systems by Dale Burkhardt appeared in
Vol. X Number II & III of the Club News (Winter 1984 and Spring 1984). The
article included numerous illustrations as well, including the F special
headers, which are different than the J/K as Don noted. The F special
headers are also noted to be the same as the rare dealer or field installed
62 super stock packages.² (By Carl)
I have updated the web site with these pictures and an enlargement of a
factory looking exhaust port cap in the mystery blue header.

Anyone know what the mystery blue headers might be for?
Thanks,
Tony

NO, NO, NO.
F special exhaust headers did not have provisions for exhaust heat from the
headers. They used hot water to heat the area under the carbs. I have
pictures to support this.
Gil, do you remember which old club news had the article about exhaust
manifolds? I know I have it, but don't remember what issue. I think there
were pictures there too.
