RE: [Chrysler300] torque converter

When I got my 300C, the transmission was shot but I wanted to see if the
engine ran ok. I removed the transmission and supported the back of the
engine under the bell housing. The engine ran fine just with the converter
attached. No vibration from the fluid still in the converter as it finds
its own centre (like a washing machine on spin cycle).

Guy,s
When the auto trans is disconnected from the block and converter, is it safe
to crank up the motor? Or does the auto trans secure the converter into
the crank shaft end? Dave
