[Chrysler300] Re: Hey! It's Bob P....

Hey! It's Bob P....Marnie outran 2 tornadoes on I-44 Tuesday on her way southwest to Lawton from Oklahoma City. It was terrifying for her. Her iPhone fried on her that morning when in Oklahoma City and had business up there. Fortunately the Apple Store replaced her phone under warranty. However, they left downloading all her data up to her to do when she got home. She left Oklahoma City at 3:45 pm. A few minutes later the storms rolled. Fortunately I was off after being on call that afternoon. OnStar in her Lucerne Super saved the day. Cell towers were blown out early on, so the iPhone even if programmed would have been useless. She called me on OnStar at home and I tracked her on the weather radar heading toward Lawton. Every 10 miles she would call at 80 mph. Upon reaching Chicasha she called and said that she couldn’t get to any roofed over gas stations because every one was jam packed with vehicles seeking protection. I told her to do an eyes right on the phone because the weather radar had circular motion detected 2 miles from her location. As soon as she did she witnessed a funnel cloud drop and transformers, etc. were blowing up. I told her real time to go as fast as she could and forget about speeding tickets. At 125 mph she missed the tornado approaching at 50 mph by 1.5 miles. After catching her breath she proceeded another 30 miles and on the 4th phone call I told her to do another eyes right. OMG! Another tornado was barreling down on her from the NW by Fletcher, OK. Pedal to the metal again and she out ran that one by 3 miles. 15 miles later she was back to Lawton where it was clear as a bell and dry, the storms had passed through Lawton 30 minutes earlier. The car didn’t even get wet through the two encounters! Glad I got that vehicle for her! (could have done it also in a 300) We met for dinner at the Food Court at the PX at Fort Sill at 5:45 under peaceful skies. Later that evening the news cast revealed that the gas station where all the vehicles were crowded under the roof was blown to bits and 3 people died there. The Lord was with us. Rob Kern

The devastation we’ve seen as presented by the media has been awful; glad you’re well.

Rob, are you and your family OK? We’re hearing bad things here in NJ about your weather and storms, etc….

Best,

Bob Porecca
