[Chrysler300] Ethanol Revisited

After watching the discussion on the use of an Ethanol Blend in the
older engines, I decided to run my own non-scientific study on the
actual Ethanol content in or local dealer supply.

Here are the results:

Duncombe Gas & Grocery (local independent dealer - They also sell live bait)

Ethanol Content - 4.4%

Cenex-Ampride (Our local farmers Co-op)

Ethanol Content 2.2%

Casey's General Store (Regional convenience store Dealer)

Ethanol Content 3.3%

Walmart (National Chain)

Ethanol Content 5.5%

Interesting results since the advertised content should be near 10%.
It might be interesting to note that the Ethanol is added at the fuel
distribution facility near Fort Dodge, and possibly the trucks used
for delivery may all use the same point of origin source.

Personally I use the generally available 91 Octane LL without any
Ethanol. Works fine for me.

Anyone wishing to duplicate the experiment can find a 100 ml
graduated flask on the Net for about $10.00, and about $4.00 of gas
collected in old (clean) peanut butter jars. Helped pass the morning
while waiting for the grass to dry before mowing.
