[Chrysler300] Won't Go Past 80!

Hi Group, 

  

While we are on the subject of speedometers,I have a question. 

The unit on my 62 Sport will not register speeds above 80 mph. 

When I exceed 80 mph and then take my foot off the accelerator pedal, the speedometer needle remains at 80 until the car's speed decreases below 80 and then it functions as it should.
