It can be done
I found the car that an original D Block I had sitting under my work bench 
for years belonged to
A member in CA has it.
I strapped the block to a pallet and he paid the shipping and it's now back 
together and in the car it was originally installed in.

I also know where the original engine is that was in a C that I used to own.

Get hold of Gil and maybe he can help
That info is on the data base
