Great engine, but certainly not intended for our letter cars.

For those of you that don't remember the '60's for various reasons, this
website captures them fairly well. The '60's were both the best of times
and the worst of times that had Chrysler 300's to help define the decade..
Keep an eye out for the '62 300 convertible.
http://objflicks.com/TakeMeBackToTheSixties.htm BTW, my data
shows there were 6,577 letter cars carrying '50's model year designations
(five years) and 10,279 letter cars carrying '60's model year designations
(six years). Sport models in the '60's totaled 249,316 (ten years) and
'70's totaled 39,223 (three years including the '79 Cordoba 300's).

Personal note:

At long last and after more than two months, my '64K ram-rag has made it to
CA from (western) NC. I should take delivery Monday. It is confirmed to
have been born an air-conditioned and ram-engined Brute. It now has a 383,
so I will be shopping for hen's teeth and a short ram engine, complete-must
be stamped C-300K and preferably dated prior to 11-11 ('63).

Note of concern for all the good folks on the east coast: I hope all have
found shelter from Irene on the high ground and that you had time to move
your possessions to a place of safety. Do let us know how you fared after
Irene blows through.

C-300K'ly,

Rich Barber

Brentwood, CA (just the usual light-to-moderate earthquakes here)
