Re: [Chrysler300] a/c ducts on a 300F

Jean-Yves and All:
The interior paint specification for the 300F, and all 1960 Chryslers with
the "black" instrument panel is the same Black Frost Poly gloss (Chrysler
color #C-5189-B, Ditzler #9229) whether it is the stamped steel portion or
the pot metal air deflectors. Since the I/P components were painted
individually, the perceived color differences could be due to the "orientation"
of the metallic during the spraying, I suppose. Hope this is of a little
help.
300ly, Gil C.

Hi to everybody.
My 300F has a/c.
I'm looking for some feedback regarding the color of the 4 pivoting ducts
on the top of the dash. As far as I can tell, my dash was still wearing
it's original paint when I got the car. The color of my ducts look more of a
dark charcoal color than right out black like the rest of the dash top. Is
this correct? Or has the sun faded the black paint on the"pot metal "
ducts to this charcoal color? Wondering if I should repaint the ducts black to
match the dash frame or paint the ducts charcoal??
Thank you!
Jean-Yves in New Brunswick.
