Re: [Chrysler300] Transmission Wet Burps on a '57

Why not just make it a practice to have the shaft sleeved and the problem should not exist. That is what my rebuild guy did and I have no such problem. The shaft are available and very reasonably priced.

Is the result of a difference between the worn shaft and the sealing O-Ring which comes in the rebuild kit. As to weather it is the result of the (made overseas) O-Ring being slightly off and / or grove worn on the original shaft is not clear. But this would explain why it would burp out after being rebuilt. It only happens to me if the car is stored for a couple of weeks without running. So it takes a few days for enough fluid to leak past and overfill the transmission pan and come out of the dipstick...I like the Cork idea.
