Re: [Chrysler300] Gas cap question

This raises a question - over the years I have noticed that when the gas
runs low on my K, there is a considerable vacuum built up in the tank when I
open the cap. For that matter, at times it is almost difficult to open
it. My understanding is that the caps for the K's (and perhaps others) are
not vented, but it strikes me that I run the risk of collapsing the tank if
there is no venting of the tank. Comments?????

Thanks,

stand alone for 55-56

57-59 use 1732-416

60-62 use 1948-749

63 uses #2203-435

64 uses #2208-545

65 uses #2208-538

Perhaps someone who has access to other books can take this a step farther
and cross refefence these numbers to some aftermaarket suppliers.
I have already ran the #'s through my pre 1985 NAPA book
and none of them compute.

all of these on my cars stored in our building.

limited access within (1955) or below (1956) locations. These are the same cap
that was used on Crosley vehicles in 1946. I know this for a fact as I have
a close friend that owns one.

be available through Stant, but no 56 listed. Are the caps the same for
all Chryslers, 56 and 57?
