The man that did the Brute Force interview and articles was Ray Doern. Can't remember the year but at least 20 years ago.

The late Ken Block of Cedar Rapids was really up on the Kiekaefer subject.
I believe he did some interviews with some of them and was able to view the cars. 

I remember him telling me about it and believe some stories were published
in the Brute Force mag years back.
