Hi Dave,

No, the C and D are the same, but the E has a bit of a "tower" molded on 
top of it that the door release handle rises through.  If we ever 
succeed in getting the new C-D bases molded, it is thought you can cut 
that tower off your old E base and epoxy it in place on the new C-D base.

The pads of the E are also different from the C-D.  The C-D is a vinyl 
hand-upholstered foam pad, whereas the E is a pad that is machine 
encased in vinyl and heat sealed around its edges.
