I have one pump casting core that differs from all of the others I've seen.  Most of them have a slot on the underside of the bearing boss into which a retainer pin is inserted to ensure that the bearing does not drift either out of or deeper into the bore.  Just one of my castings does not include a place for any kind of retainer, but relies strictly on the press fit of the bearing into its bore to hold its correct position.  I've always thought it was a very early production unit, never considering the possibility of aftermarket design.  Now I'm wondering.  I'll look at it again for other signs of NON-MOPAR features.
