Re: [Chrysler300] Brake problems

Hi Niels,

My guess would be that somehow the brake fluid is leaking past the piston in the master cylinder.

One way to test for this problem is to hit the brake petal very hard and see if you get a good response for a very short period of time and then the "butter" feeling.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Brake problems

Hi group, this is Niels from Germany.
I ´ve just finished a complete restauration of my 300G HTC and I wanted to show my car next weekend.

But during driving the first miles I noted a big problem with the brakes.
The car has a disc brake conversion from AAJ and everything works on it but
I am not able to get a hard brake point at the pedal and  it feels like pushing the pedal
into something like butter!  It is not possible to get  the tires blocking even with the pedal
putting down untill the firewall!

There is of course no air in the brake hoses!!
Has some body had the same problems?

Has anybody an idea what to do or what can help?
A friend of mine suggested changing the standard hoses to steel flex hoses.

Thank you for your reply in advance.
Regards, Niels
