Re: [Chrysler300] Medallion adhesive?

I would be very cautious with using the " 3M brand Plastic Emblem Adhesive". A couple of years ago that's what I bought, because by the name it seemed like the perfect adhesive, to attach my new 300 grille medallion on my 1962 300 Sport Convertible.
I applied the adhesive, set the medallion and it looked good, for a few minutes. I did something else on that project and a couple minutes later I looked at the grille and the the " 3M brand Plastic Emblem Adhesive" was eating away at the emblem. There was nothing I could do to stop it. It was melting the plastic.

I bought another new emblem and attached that one with a good Silicone caulk.

Keith you may been lucky. Maybe because the amount of adhesive is smaller on the silver dollar emblem.

One thing trhat I also did was made a thin plate with 2 studs and mounted the emblem to the plate.
Now, if I ever need to remove the emblem, for whatever reason , I just unbolt it.

Good luck with whatever you choose to use and Happy 300'ing !!!!

3M offers a purpose-made product #08061, called Plastic and Emblem
Adhesive. I used it for my medallion and it seemed to work fine. Be sure
to remove every little shred of the old adhesive and clean the chrome
base it goes in with lacquer thinner just to make sure you gain good
adhesion.
