I think the issue is that a lot of these emblems have the colors painted on the back of a clear plastic emblem. The 3M adhesive MIGHT dissolve the paint. I don't think it was designed for emblems made like this. I remember former club member Dokos having this issue on his small "E" emblems. The silicone is safer and theoretically won't attack the paint on the back of the emblems.
