Forcing you to put the GPS unit below the dash also  forces you to take 
your eyes completely off the road when you look at it -  not the best thing if 
you ask me.  If obstruction of view is the concern, I  would suggest that a 
Garmin unit takes up little more room of your view than  an EZ Pass unit and 
at least when you are looking at it, your eyes can  still be seeing the 
road in front of you.  
 
Has anyone actually checked the NYS motor vehicle laws to  confirm that 
mounting the unit anywhere on the windshield is a  violation?????

to have a brightly colored screen in my line of vision. Wish CT would  
adopt 
same.

I keep mine on a little shelf below the radio of my  daily driver. Not 
visible from outside the car and I can stick it in my  pocket when I leave 
the car on the street or in a parking lot. As long as  I can hear it, I'm 
good to go.
