Larry, I'd put it on the most forward intake manifold bolt

  Subject: [Chrysler300] Negative battery Cable 1958 300D

Could someone please tell me where on the engine should the negative
battery cable be attached for a 300D

When I bought my car it was attached to the exhaust manifold stud closest
  to the battery

I just noticed that the cable gets really hot all the way to the battery
from the heat of the exhaust manifold

Sometimes when the engine is hot it will not crank even though the battery
is fully charged could this be due to the hot negative battery cable?

  Thank You

  Larry Jabin
