Or possibly the other way around: that 2260876 was the entire assembly, but 2260877 was stamped on the back for just the “shell” without the center emblem?

Gil et. al. - I seem to recall that Bob Merritt and I had some email exchange on this a year or two ago and what I discovered at that time was that, in 1961 at least, the wheel cover (shell), the center medallion and the retainer all had separate part numbers in the manual, where the “shell” was part number 2260876 . But Chrysler probably offered the complete, assembled wheel cover as a “package” and possibly 2260877 was the part number for the “ready to install” wheel cover and stamped as such on the backside. But we could not confirm that as a fact.

My parts books for 1961, 2, and 3 do not have a pn 2260 877 listed. The pn for the 300G is listed as 2260876 and the one for both the "H" and "J" is 2265 535. The only difference I know of is the paint color surrounding the center is red on the "G" and black on the "H" and "J".

Didn't they use the same hup caps on both 1961 and 1962 except for the centre being painted red or black depending on the year? Fern
