Re: [Chrysler300] Transmission for 300G

The big question is why?
First off, the crankshaft will have to be changed to use the flex plate for the 727. There are no adapters. The trans mount location is also different, so you will have to use a different cross member. You will no longer have an emergency brake, since the original was on the back of the trans. Kick down linkage will also have to be modified. Speedometer cable will be different. No logical place to accommodate a push button unit with park position.
You will spend a lot less money rebuilding the cast iron TF. It’s a very durable trans when rebuilt properly.

I would like to switch to a later model aluminum torqeflite. I have access to a pushbutton torqueflite from a ’64 Dodge.

The problem is that the newer trans has a “Park” pawl and no e-brake assembly on the tail shaft. Has anyone solved this issue/opportunity before? Thanks! Dan
