Re: [Chrysler300] Oil

My2c's!
Oil is cheep, engine rebuilds not! If I were driving my car for 1500 to 2500 miles for 6 months of summer and then was planing to store her for 5 to 6 months. I would change the oil and filter before storage AND when taking her out of storage change only the oil....... Best scenario. JJ

PS: You guys are probably too young to remember that the oil in our cars, (it was recommended to be changed every 2500 miles.) I changed 2500 miles or 3 months whichever came first. That being said was usually non detergent oil at the time. And I do not need to tell you about sludge in the old girls.....do I?

This could be a short but interesting thread.  I change my oil in the fall so the car is put away with fresh oil with the least amount of moisture and contaminants.  I do know others who wait for the beginning of the next season to make the change.  What are opinions of other's in the group?

The first signs of spring are appearing here in  Dayton OH, so it's time to get the 300F out of winter storage and ready for the road.  One of the first things to do is an oil change.  Is Rotella still the oil of preference for our old style engines?  Terry McTaggart
